The Nordic Hearth Traditional Room

A traditional Finnish room in thermally modified Nordic spruce, built around the thing infrared cannot reproduce: water on hot stones. The tiered benches put roughly 30 degrees between the upper and lower seat, which is the point rather than a flaw. Thermally modified timber was specified because the sugars that feed rot are cooked out of it, so it stays dimensionally stable through years of wet and dry cycling.

Shipping and logistics

Saunas of this size ship by LTL freight on a pallet, not by parcel carrier. The carrier contacts you to book a delivery appointment and someone 18 or older must sign for it. Standard service is curbside, which means the pallet is lowered at the end of your driveway and moving it from there is your responsibility. A loaded pallet can exceed 500 lbs, so plan for help and equipment. Liftgate service is required unless you have a loading dock, and narrow or steep access should be flagged before ordering.

Inspect before you sign. Walk all sides of the pallet, photograph it before the driver leaves, and note any damage on the delivery receipt. Signing a clean receipt is a legal statement that the shipment arrived undamaged, and carriers routinely deny claims afterwards.
